Default Sad But True

/RantOn

According to /age, I have had my guild wars game for 11 months. Which is true. 11 Months. Will be 12 at the end of May.

In all of those 11 months, I have had probably 10 characters. Out of 10 characters, I have gotten 2 of them equally as far. Further than the rest.

I only got those 2 characters to Shiverpeak Mntns lol. And have only gotten to maybe 2 or 3 quests there. So.. in 1 year, I'm still in the beginning of the game.

There are many reasons why, I'm sure. But most of all, I think it is because I lose interest in my character. I get frustrated because I'll see a cool build on here I'll want to try- but.. I can't get all the skills to later in the game, so then I don't know what to do lol. I can't decide how to distribute my pts early on, etc. I like PvE and PvP. but it seems most builds are catered towards one or the other. And I don't know why I would preferably do, just because I obviously haven't gotten very far. I even feel slightly frustrated just writing this thread

And then I feel frustrated because once you get into Old Ascalon, you have to buy new armor. So of course, you save up enough to buy the best, then you have to buy new armor in Yaks Bend, etc. Im sure this is easy for those who have already completed the game, and can twink out any new character they want lol.

So really, all I'm asking is, how do I stay interested? I've tryed a N/W, W/Mo, W/R, R/N, Me/E, Me/W, and probably a few others... and I just lose interest because well, I can't get the skills I want, can't find a group, yadda yadda.

Maybe I'm lazy. Maybe I'm not smart enough to understand the game mechanics. Probably both

Well, one thing that might help is to NOT go look up all the skills at first. The beginning skills only seem weak/boring when compared to the skills you will eventually get. I remember a year ago when I thought Conjure Phantasm had to be just the coolest spell in the game LOL.

Anyway, get some online buddies to help out - it is more fun if you have a few people to adventure with.

1 pick a type of character that you like not just cool down the road.

2 dont worry about builds early in the game just use skills you have and can get at that part in time

3 dont try to do tons of characters when one fails

4 you dont need to by new armor every city i made it to dessert with ascolon armor.

5 dont give up

well to wake up your interets, have you tried: FoW, UW (both of them), SF, GvG (if you don't have a guild get one! or make one yourself, it's always fun to make your own guild community) and PvP i also fun.....

I would suggest picking a character class that you really like there style, and the builds you can have with it. Then just have fun with it - don't look at what skills other people are using, just use what is fun to you and seems to help kill things faster.

When i first played i played with a necromancer beacuse i thought it would be fun to raise minions and stuff. I would have my sad little armys of 2 that died in about 6 seconds, but i had so much fun with it - Just find something that makes you laugh or that seems to be working well and go with it, if you loose intrest and stop playing that isn't going to get you any further!

And definatly play with some buddies - buddies make everything fun
